DECCAN ODYSSEY – The Royal Indian Experience (8 Days/7 Nights)

01 Day/Wed MUMBAI - RATNAGIRI
Evening board the Deccan Odyssey. Dinner & overnight on board.
 

  02 Day/Thu RATNAGIRI - NAGARI
Upon arrival drive to Rai Bhatgaon Jetty for Backwater Cruise up to historical fort Jaigad. Later explore the beautiful beaches along the Konkan coast. Afternoon sightseeing of Ratnagiri town - visit Ratnadurg Fort, Lokmanaya Tilak Smarak. Dinner & overnight on board.

 
03 Day/Fri NAGARI - GOA
Morning visit Sindhudurg Sea Fort. After lunch Backwater Cruise through the Tarkarli creek up to Kale Jetty followed by visit to Sawantwadi town by bus to witness fabulous lacquer handicrafts, paintings and furniture at the "Shiipagrama" in the town. Dinner & overnight on board.
 
04 Day/Sat GOA - PUNE
Early morning proceed for sightseeing tour of Old Goa - Basilica De Born Jesus, Se Cathedral and the Church of St. Francis of Assissi, built in 1661 and the best example of Portuguese religious art in old Goa. Thereafter drive to Panjim. After lunch at Fort Aguada Beach Resort, visit to Dona Paula & 250 years old House. Dinner & overnight on board.
 
05 Day/Sun PUNE - AURANGABAD
Morning visit Maharashtra Phule Mandai, the old central market. Raja Dinkar Kalkar Museum houses variety of artefacts of the 17th, 18th & 19th Centuries. Sir David Sasoon Synagogues built in 1867. The Osho International Commune is on of the biggest centre for mediation and spiritual growth. Afternoon visit the Tribal Museum having collection of 2000 rare and precious articles related to tribal life. Aga Khan Palace, a place where Mahatma Gandhi was incarcerated during freedom struggle presently converted in to a Museum dedicated to Gandhi family. Witness Sound and Light show at Shaniwarwada. Dinner & overnight on board.

  06 Day/Mon AURANGABAD - NASIK
Morning visit the historical fort Daulatabad, Ellora caves, a World Heritage site, having 34 cave temples dedicated to three different religions - Hinduism, Buddhism & Jainism. Lunch & Cultural programme at Hotel Taj. After lunch visit Shivaji Museum with weapons & antique from the great Maratha Empire. Aurangabad Caves No. 7 & 8, Bibi-ka-Maqbara, a replica of Taj Mahal is a grand piece of Mughal architecture. Free time for shopping Paithani, Himroo, Bidriwork from showrooms for a perfect memorabilia. Dinner & overnight on board.

 

  07 Day/Tue NASIK - MUMBAI
Morning proceed to Fardapur resort for breakfast. Thereafter visit renowned Buddhist caves of Ajanta, a World Heritage site to witness some of the finest paintings and sculptures of the second century AD. At noon board the train at Bhusawal railway station. Proceed to Nasik. Lunch-on-board. Arrival at Nasik railway station. Departure to visit Panchawati Ghat and Sula Winery Yard. Wine & dine at the winery yard. Dinner & overnight on board.

 

  08 Day/Wed ARRIVE - MUMBAI
Arrival at Mumbai railway station.
